The Great DB

I'm not a die hard david bowie fan or anything, but i can't stop listening to, "The Man Who Sold the World" I think that it is his best song.  I always thought "Space Oddity" was his best but this song in my opinion surpasses that.  Once the intro starts i get excited & can't wait for my mind to sink into it.  I love the lyrics, "i thought you died a long long time ago" and then when the song picks up & starts into the chorus, "oh no not me, i never lost control, you're face to face with the man who sold the world" it is mind numbing and you cant help but sing along.  it's about a man who doesn't recognize himself, hence the title.

Take Me Out To the Ball Game

i love going to baseball games.  especially going to see my favorite team, the Anaheim Angels play.  There is nothing like being at a game.  just sitting back relaxing & cheering on your team.  The atmosphere is fun, casual & full of excitement.  Singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh inning stretch and waiting for that home run hit to happen & seeing the players make it to home plate.  i never have a bad time at a game, & i know that i can enjoy this event for many more years to come.  It really is America's Past time & future generations can always enjoy it.

Underground Bliss

i really love the velvet underground.  in my opinion they are the best band ever.  i get lost in their music and i feel like im in a trance when i listen to them.  especially when i listen to the songs "venus in furs" & "heroine."  im so glad andy warhol discovered their brilliance and financed their first album, the velvet underground & nico, because i could not imagine never listening to them or not knowing of their existence.

Bill Maher

Bill Maher is my hero.  I love how he speaks his mind and makes no regret by saying any thought that crosses his mind.  He stands by his views and makes no apologies if what he believes isn't what the majority of america believes or agrees with.  He exercises his right of freedom of speech.

Corporate Greed

i was was not meant to work in retail or anything that has to do with sales. i hate corporate greed. i wish there was a more dignified way to earn a living. i know im not going to be in retail for very much longer but i hate the fact that im still working as a cashier & always feel pressure to sale sale sale! or lower myself to satisfy a customer. it blows!

An Eluardian Instance

about 8 months ago i heard a song unlike any other song i had ever heard before and immediately i fell in love. it's a long story to how i first listened to this song but the second i heard the first music note i felt this tingle of joy and happiness & then once the lyrics started i listened carefully and even though they might not make sense to you i connected with the words and couldn't help but try to sing a long and start moving with the flow of the music. This song that i can go on & on about is Of Montreal's "An Eluardian Instance" I downloaded it the first chance i had and for about a good month or so it was all i listened to. And a few months later I had the opportunity of seeing of them live and they played my song and at that moment i can assure you i was the happiest girl in the room & probably had the happiest feeling i hadn't felt in a long time. Why i choose to write about it now..I can't answer but while looking at YouTube videos i came across a video with Of Montreal's lead singer Kevin Barnes talking about what motivated him to write the song and what it's basically about. In the interview he says, "it's hard to tell the people that you really love that you love them" and that is something i believe everyone can relate to. He's just brilliant and i hope i can someday tell him how much this song has touched me, it's not just a song to me, it's a lot more and i know that everyone has a song that makes them feel so content with love, life & the moments in between.
